Have a look at the Sabre forum for their Boards layout, that works pretty well. PS: www.sabre.org.au/forum/RonF*** Sabre 1009/ OK 698 (oh yeh, I've gotta do the paperwork on 698, plus join association etc - will get to it soonish)

I've been reading the Completely OK book and was interested to read the efforts by the Australians and NZers in the early 90s to have the "Dinghy" dropped from the association name. I know now why Bill has often corrected my correspondence.
So, should this forum be renamed: "Australian International OK Forum"?

Thanks Peter and thanks too Andre for making the change. A little history;
This matter actually dates back to 1970, even before I started in OKs. It was raised at the OKDIA AGM held in NZ during the Worlds that year. Australia proposed to remove the word "dinghy" from the name of OKDIA because "a dinghy is normally a small boat used by larger yachts". The motion was defeated. However the Australian Association followed through on the thoughts from that time and changed the name of our National Association to "Australian OK Association" at our AGM held 30/12/70. The OK Dinghy was eventually granted International status in November, 1974. Our National Association name was then changed to "International OK Association of Australia". NSW followed this lead and changed our State Association name to "International OK Association of NSW". This happened sometime around 1975/76 I recall. Both Associations are now Incorporated so "Inc." has been added to the names of the two Associations.
Members of the Associations should use our correct names in any formal communications.
