Hello Folks

Just wondering if anyone can provide info on KA 435. It's currently for sale in Qld. Living in Qld it's not too far for me to consider purchasing. It's a glass boat and is currently called Crusader. Has no measurement cert, still has an alu mast. Would be interested if anyone has any history and who may have built this boat. Thank you

Hi William,

I'm reasonably sure that KA 435 was built by Arthur Horsfall probably around 1973. I think it was one of a few new boats built for the Queensland fleet sailing at Sandgate on Bramble Bay. The Horsfall hulls were competitive in the National fleet at that time so measurement and registration should be OK for that boat. I think it was sailed by Michael Gardner who competed regularly in events at Sandgate in a boat named "Crusader" when the OKs sailed there during the 1970s.

Thank you for your comments and your info. The hull is GRP with a marine ply deck. Entire boat has been recently refurbished. Photos look good but yet to see in the "flesh". I'll keep you posted as to how I get on. Once again thank you
