Of those guys that did the World's, what was the take on the use of a leeward gate? Why was it done? Was it good?
On the use of juries at the World's are they necessary? Do many people feel they have been given dud calls?
My concern with jury boats is that the jurer may be out of touch. Is there a guarantee they have done a lot of single-hander regattas?
For example one Jurer told me once "we followed you all the way down the run because your action looked so different to the others". And my response was that if the other back markers I was with weren't so lazy they would have been more active in their boat too. I don't know what they would have done if they were judging a Laser event where everyone is pumping and S curving!
Would they blow the whole fleet?

The gate marks were used at the end of the square run leg of the course. They provide an opportunity to reduce traffic congestion at the mark rounding and to select the tactical direction of exit from the mark. Provided the marks are correctly positioned the system works well. At the Warnemunde Worlds it was good.
The use of the International Jury at an OK Worlds is mandatory. Most jurors selected for OK events usually are experienced Finn, OK or Laser people. Whilst no guarantees are given, members of an International Jury generally know what they are about! I'll leave it to Penguin to comment on "dud calls"!
