How did you reinforce your boom at the vang and bolt hole?

The traditional method has been to shape a wooden plug and push it up the boom. However, Alistair at Icebreaker came up with a simple and effective alternative:
Simply take a length of aluminium box section the same width at the internal measurement of the boom (25 or 30mm I think) and long enough to reach from the mast end of the boom to just beyong the vang bolt. Insert it into the boom, centred, and fix either with machine screws or rivets.
