Hi, I have an old video cassette titled 'OK Dinghy Training', plus I've copied it over to DVD on a -RW disc. I guess there is much more material out now via Youtube etc, but perhaps someone wants this for historical purposes?
If someone wants it (especially class committee secretary/member/s who would act as a central repository, or at least make sure it goes to a good home), please post a reply to this thread. If convenient, I can hand it over to e.g. Tom Pearce or Bruce Ashton the next time they visit Albert Sailing Club during our Winter Season (commences this week :-) ).
The tape doesn't have a date or authorship details on it, but seems to have been produced a few decades ago in the UK, and states at the start that "This series of video clips has been put together over a number of years with the aim of helping others to improve their OK sailing, it is an amateur production made by the participants but it is our hope that those watching it will gain something from it and enjoy sailing this wonderful boat more as a result. Many thanks are due to all those who have taken part but especially to those who have done so without their knowledge! Most of the commentary is by Nick Craig so please enjoy his unique style and learn from his experience."
Chapters are headed:
- Felixstowe 40 knots!!
- Starting
- Tacking
- Beating
- Reaching
- Gybing [and running]
- 40 Knots!
- Sail Controls and Sail Shape / Rigging and Sail Control
- Thanks to ...
The copy I have seems to have been copied (not produced) by 'Storm Video Studio' of 434 Victoria Road Gladesville NSW. The video is just over 34 minutes long.
Cheers, Ron F.
