Great to welcome the crew from Southport to the OK Dinghy class. Please continue to ask for any assistance that will help you get your fleet of boats on the water. Damien, what can you tell us about the "two new builds on the CNC table next week"? Sounds like a project that will interest our technical blokes!

Hi God! Thanks for the offer no doubt there will be questions soon as Im rebuilding AUS 685. As for the CNC Kit I just finished a 6.5mt sportboat designed by Dan Leech in NZ and the kit was soooooo easy for the home builder and he is so helpful along the way. Well he also has been working with some OK dingy sailors in designing and building a plywood kit set the same concept as the big boat. I don't recall the names involved but apparently one of them is a top NZ OK sailor that currently sails an Icebraker. They have built 9 so far and 3 of the top 5 were these Dan Leech kit sets at some big OK regatta recently. The hulls take 3 good days from start to undercoat (so Im told) so I orded one knowing how easy the last project from Dan was. It comes with 3D renderings and step by step instructions on building the hull and a CNC file for a cabinet maker to cut out with a 2D router. Also in the plans are a CNC file for the plywood jig so it clips together like a jigsaw puzzel, Plywood that they used was Gaboon, I pick up my kit tomorrow from the Cabinet maker. As far as the tec stuff you might have to as him, you can google Dan Leech boat designs and under News there is a 3D rendering of the OK Dingy. He is a top bloke and fascinating to talk to regarding the foiling boats he designs. If you have trouble contacting him let me know and I can get some details for you. Cheers Damo
