Good to see some constructive comment on this subject. As Daen indicated, activity on our forum has been a little slow over recent months so this is a good discussion to stir up some interest for our new season. One important point that needs to be remembered here is that we should try to support those people who have supported our Association. Brian and his crew at Zhik, www.zhik.com have been very supportive of our Association since 2005 when they first sponsored our pre Worlds Nationals at Belmont. For the 2006 Worlds we again received very welcome supportive sponsorship with the donation of a large range of Zhik products. Over recent years each further request we have made to Zhik for assistance with regatta prizes has always received a positive response. I have purchased Zhik products and used them exclusively since 2005. I have found them to be very practical and well suited to use on the OK Dinghy. They compare favourably in price and quality with similar products and the on-line purchasing arrangements work well. Zhik deserves the reciprocal support of members of our Association.

Point taken Bill!
Zhik's support for the class has been great and ongoing, as you say. Certainly my boat and body carries plenty of their equipment and their online ordering is great (I ordered some stuff on Monday afternoon and it was in my letterbox before I left for work on Tuesday). They were also very good about exchanging my boots when I ordered the wrong size.
I guess I'm just not quite sure about the separate hiking pads/pants that they are selling now. Lots of people (like Andre and Gary) rated their old hikers but they don't sell them any more.

Zhik has been my prefereance for gear and for three reasons they support us, there mail delivery is excellent and the gear works. I have been using their hiking pad system for two years now, no real complaints, they work and have held up over the time.

I agree Zhiks delivery is excellent, and their toe straps do a great job, however just because they support the class is no reason to be brainwashed into using all the product. I would never use their buoyancy aids, as I consider them stupid, why make something that is meant to aid your survival and rescue at sea in a colour that is a perfect camouflage in choppy water

I remain ever surprised by the amount of dinghy sailing gear that is sold in black or grey!

I just tried out my new Zhik Superwarm hiker suit. Rather than the old system where the pads slipped into pockets in the legs of the suit, they are now using "Power pads" (which you slide on before putting the suit on).
After my first try, I was quite happy. The suit is really comfortable and lets you move around quite freely. The battens didn't slide around like the old pocket type hikers. I used them on a pretty warm day (hardly what they are designed for) and I wasn't too hot. They are supposed to keep you very warm in the cold stuff.
They do take a bit of time to put on, will need to be looked after carefully and were pretty expensive, but beats being cold.
